Gestalt Therapy

Gestalt therapy centres present-moment experience, awareness, and integration. Figure–ground, cycle of contact, and experiments are core ideas. It does not diagnose.

The therapist may use experiments, empty chair, body awareness, and live feedback. Expression is supported; insight emerges from experience.

Relationship is the field; the therapist is direct and present. Responsibility stays with the client's choices.

Intense regression or psychosis spectra need careful structuring.

Manualised CBT protocols or automated diagnosis are not Gestalt frames.

In PsychSupervisor, Gestalt selection summarises figures, interruptions, and experiential interventions as decision support.

How it appears in the app

In PsychSupervisor you choose Gestalt Therapy as the theoretical frame when opening a case; the session transcript is read through that lens. The report is organised under five standard headings: Session Overview Summary, Developmental Assessment, Session Evaluation, Theory-Based Evaluation of Therapist Interventions, and Recommended Therapy Plan. After speaker roles are assigned, text is structured in the selected approach; evidence-mode sections stay tied to the transcript, while narrative-mode sections may summarise flow. Outputs support supervision and record-keeping as clinical decision support; they do not assign diagnoses, prescribe medication, or replace emergency care. The clinician verifies the transcript and retains final clinical judgment.
