There are two ways to delete your account and your data: you can delete them yourself in the app, or you can request deletion by writing to us. Both have the same result.
1. Deleting in the app
Settings > Data and privacy > Delete my account. To confirm, you will be asked to type the email address or the phone number of your account. Deletion cannot be undone.
If you would like to download your data before deleting it, the "Export my data" option is on the same screen.
A subscription bought through Google Play or the App Store is not cancelled by deleting the account; cancel it in your Google Play or App Store account. A subscription bought on the website is cancelled automatically.
2. If you would like a break before deleting
Settings > Data and privacy > Suspend account. While suspended, your data is not deleted; new client files, new sessions and new analyses are paused, while reading and exporting remain available. You can reactivate the account with a single tap on the same screen.
3. Requesting deletion in writing
Write to info@probeside.com from the email address of your account. Your request will be answered within thirty days at the latest.
4. Data that is deleted
When the account is deleted, the following is deleted:
- Account record: name, email, phone, preferences, membership details
- Client files and profiles
- Session records, transcripts, reports and therapist notes
- Uploaded audio files
Because of the backup window, deletion is completed within seven days at the latest. We do not say "deleted instantly" because it would not be true.
5. Data kept after deletion
For product security and legal obligations, the following remain independently of the account: administrator action logs, the codes of documents (PDF) already issued, so that they can still be verified, and purchase records. These do not contain session content. Feedback messages you sent and rate-limit counters are deleted with the account.
If you used a promo code, a keyed hash of your phone number also remains, so that the same number cannot use a code again; the number itself is not stored.
6. Raw audio recording
The raw audio recording does not wait for the account to be deleted: it is deleted as soon as you approve the transcript, and if you do not approve it, it is deleted automatically within seven days at the latest.
