Cognitive Behavioural Couple Therapy (CBCT)
Cognitive Behavioural Couple Therapy (CBCT) targets thought–emotion–behaviour cycles in couple interaction. Problem solving, communication skills, and behaviour change are foregrounded. It does not diagnose.
Formulation operates at couple level, linking individual schemas and relational maintainers.
The therapist may use structured exercises and homework; progress is tracked.
Emotion-heavy cases may add other frames.
No automated diagnosis or medication advice.
In PsychSupervisor, CBCT offers couple-level cognitive-behavioural formulation as decision support.
How it appears in the app
In PsychSupervisor you choose Cognitive Behavioural Couple Therapy (CBCT) as the theoretical frame when opening a case; the session transcript is read through that lens. The report is organised under five standard headings: Session Overview Summary, Developmental Assessment, Session Evaluation, Theory-Based Evaluation of Therapist Interventions, and Recommended Therapy Plan. After speaker roles are assigned, text is structured in the selected approach; couple and family approach headings are written as narrative text drawn from the transcript, and every session also gets a separate risk screen that flags transcript wording. This approach is for two-person couple files; family files with three or more people or a child use Systemic Family and Couple Therapy. Outputs support supervision and record-keeping as clinical decision support; they do not assign diagnoses, prescribe medication, or replace emergency care. The clinician verifies the transcript and retains final clinical judgment.
